Used truck caps are sold as-is, but that doesn’t mean you’re on your own. We stand behind every listing on our platform and have a clear, fair process if something isn’t right. Here’s exactly what to expect.

All used truck caps are sold in their current condition. Listings include photos, condition ratings, and detailed specs so you can assess before you buy.
5-Day Inspection Window
You have 5 business days from delivery or pickup to inspect the cap and report any issues that were not disclosed in the listing.
Fitment Disputes Covered
If a cap was listed with incorrect fitment specs and doesn’t fit your truck, we will work to make it right — including full refund or replacement.

Email or call us within 5 business days of receiving your cap. Describe the issue and include photos of the cap and any discrepancy.

Our team compares your report against the original listing photos, specs, and seller disclosure. Most claims are reviewed within 1 business day.

We contact the seller
If the issue is valid, we contact the seller directly on your behalf. We handle the dispute so you don’t have to chase anyone down.

Refund or resolution
Eligible refunds are issued within 5–7 business days. We can also help source a replacement cap at no additional service fee.

What Qualifies for a Return

The cap’s actual condition is materially different from the listing — undisclosed cracks, missing hardware, different color, or significant damage not shown in photos.

Wrong Fitment Specs
The listing stated the cap fits your specific make, model, year, and bed length, but the cap physically cannot be installed on your truck due to incorrect specs.

Damaged in Transit
The cap arrived with shipping damage not present at the time of listing. Photo documentation required within 48 hours of delivery.

Color Mismatch
Used caps may not perfectly match factory paint codes due to age and fading. Minor color variation is expected and does not qualify unless listed as an exact match.

Buyer’s Remorse
If you change your mind after purchase, contact us within 5 days before pickup or delivery. Seller discretion applies; restocking fees may apply.

As-Advertised Items
Caps sold with disclosed flaws (scratches, fading, minor dents) at discounted pricing are not eligible for return based on those disclosed conditions.

If the return is due to misrepresentation or incorrect fitment specs, the seller is responsible for return shipping costs. For buyer’s remorse returns, the buyer typically covers return freight. We’ll clarify this before any return is initiated.
Take clear photos of the damage as soon as you receive the cap — before moving or installing it. Photograph the packaging, the cap from multiple angles, and any specific areas of concern. Email these to us at returns@usedtruckcaps.shop within 48 hours of delivery.
Contact us immediately. If the fitment specs in the listing were incorrect, we will still work to resolve the issue. However, installation is considered acceptance of the cap’s physical condition — fitment claims must be made before or during installation, not after.
Yes — if a return is approved, we can apply your refund amount as credit toward finding a replacement cap. Our fitment team will actively search inventory for a suitable match at no additional service fee.
Once a return is approved and the cap has been returned to the seller, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. Credit card refunds may take an additional 3–5 business days depending on your bank.
Yes, the 5-day inspection window applies to local pickups as well. We strongly recommend inspecting the cap in person before completing pickup — checking glass seals, clamps, locks, and overall condition before you drive away.
